Thinking of becoming vegetarian/vegan, want to understand why a family member or friend is VEGetariAN, or want to understand the basics of VEGetariANism and its implications for animals, humans and the environment?
"Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind." Albert Einstein
The word 'vegetarian' comes from the Latin word 'vegetus' meaning full of vitality, vigorous and cheerful, not as most people think - a person who eats only vegetables. Who wouldn't want to become more vigorous, full of vitality and cheerful? All those benefits and as well as that you'll have more variety of delicious food to eat, increase your chances of staying healthier, looking younger, and living longer, be saving animals, people, water and the environment in general, therefore leaving a much lighter footprint on the planet.
........................................Vegan is the new vegetarian
These days, many people who decide to change their diet to a healthier, more compassionate and environmentally sustainable diet, choose to go vegan. Throughout this website, the word vegetarian has been used loosely to describe a plant based diet (encompassing veganism).

With the variety of veg foods available these days and the gaining popularity of VEGetariANISM, it really isn't difficult at all. Every restaurant has veg options and some even have a special VEGetariAN section on their menu. Supermarkets sell most of the foods you will need to buy to eat at home.
“Isn’t man an amazing animal?
"He kills wildlife by the millions in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billions and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative – and fatal health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases.
"Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year sends out cards praying for 'Peace on Earth.' ”
